With National Grilling Month coming up in July, we reached out to the more than 80,000 subscribers of our monthly Outdoor Living by Belgard eNewsletter to visit our Outdoor Kitchen and Outdoor Grill Island Pinterest boards and vote on their favorite designs. The votes have been tallied, and here on the top 5 outdoor kitchen designs in each category.

Top 5 Outdoor Kitchen Designs

Building lake house with pool house n outdoor kitchen like 36 inch grill bar sink pizza oven have 12 feet to work with drawer fridge with 2 drawers

Our contractor is building a retaining wall using the Belgard Diamond Pro StrllFace Carriagehouse. Our patio is going to have the Bellgard Avondale Pavers. We will have an L shaped island for the outdoor kitchen which will have an gas grill and Big Green Egg on the patio. What would you suggest we consider for the stone veneer for the island that would compliment these and finish the look?

You could do Ashlar Tandem for the kitchen, as it comes Avondale as well (https://www.belgard.com/products/retaining-walls/ashlar-tandem/). Ashlar Tandem can be paired with Tandem Modular Block to build the entire kitchen structure. Or, it can be used as a veneer and be applied with Sticky Stone or mortar over concrete CMU’s.

You could also use Weston Stone (https://www.belgard.com/products/retaining-walls/weston-stone-wall/) which also comes in Avondale. Another option, would be to use one of our Echelon masonry products like Waterford Stone. This is a full bed depth masonry product, and would need to be installed like full weight natural stone on a floating reinforced concrete slab.

Lastly, you could choose Artforms and go with a slightly more modern clean look – which can be used for the entire kitchen structure as well. For the countertops you could source granite locally, or use Porcelain pavers to cover it.
