pavers and composite decking

The National Association of Homebuilders International Builders’ Show (IBS) was held in Orlando in late February 2022 and Belgard was on hand to showcase our sister brand, MoistureShield composite decking, along with some of our hardscape products. The show was a huge success as we entertained builders and contractors in our booth from around the country, helping to educate them about MoistureShield benefits while also debuting some new products and programs. We were also able to showcase how well Belgard products pair with MoistureShield decking for mixed materials backyard designs.

Despite a drop in attendance to the overall IBS event from pre-pandemic events, the Belgard and MoistureShield teams were thrilled to have even more traffic visit our booth than in previous years, which reflects the reputation of both brands and the rapidly growing interest in the MoistureShield product line. We even had celebrities like Joe Mazza of HGTV’s Home Inspector Joe, PJ Antonik of Heart of Oak TV, Danny Lipford of Today’s Homeowner and our long-term friend Chip Wade all drop by to experience MoistureShield’s decking innovations in person. If you missed out, here’s an overview to keep you in the loop.

MoistureShield visitors had quite a bit to take in at the booth as evidenced by our booth tour, which offered a quick peek at what to expect.

. . .

Attendees received a look behind the science of MoistureShield’s innovative SolidCore DifferenceTM with Jin Saw from the engineering department at MoistureShield.

. . .

With the successful launch of the new Meridian Line of capped composite deck boards last year, attendees were also interested in news about the line’s expansion into other markets. Meridian features TruTexture™ Surface, a low-profile wood grain pattern with a reduced pattern repetition that evokes the look and feel of real wood combined with all the protection and performance of the SolidCore Difference.

. . .

Atlanta-based contractor John Lea of Decksouth dropped by the booth to offer his take on the benefits of the MoistureShield Valued Partner program and how his company routinely combines Belgard pavers with MoistureShield composite decking products.

. . .

Displays also showcased additional uses for MoistureShield including picnic tables, planters and the newly code-approved use as cladding. Yes, you can enhance a facade’s architectural details with resilient, color-enriched composite cladding siding that offers the look and feel of real wood that doesn’t require staining or painting.

. . .

We also had a little fun in the booth with a rapid-fire interview of why Belgard and MoistureShield make a great pair in terms of innovation, durability and design.

If you missed this year’s show, mark your calendar for IBS 2023 January 31 – February 2 in Las Vegas. We’ll be back with even more Oldcastle APG brands that transform and hope to see you there!
