In our continuous quest to help you make the most of the time you spend outdoors at your home, Belgard presents three small hardscape projects that can make a big impact on your outdoor living space: garden edging, a two-column bench and a fire pit. Our team produced a video for each project providing the tools you’ll need along with step-by-step instructions for anyone looking to DIY it, or as an idea to pass along to a contractor.
Garden Edging
Stone garden edging is a quick and extremely easy way to enhance the look of your garden or flower beds, while also serving to keep mulch contained within the space. All this project entails is measuring, shoveling out the space, adding and tamping filler, and laying in the stones. There is probably not an easier project that will yield such a dramatic improvement to your beds.
Two-Column Bench
This simple, two-column bench is both practical and sturdy. Use this bench to add more seating on the patio, place it in a romantic spot amidst the garden, position it to take in a beautiful vista or to watch the sunset, or build it next to a fire pit for getting cozy on a cool fall night. Wherever you decide to put it, this bench will make a useful and welcomed addition to your outdoor living area.
Fire Pit
A fire pit is an incredible new element to add to any backyard. Easy to install and versatile, this fire feature can provide warmth and a great place to roast marshmallows during the cooler months, while also serving as a grill pit year round. Surround it with Adirondack chairs, our two-column bench or a small retaining wall to create a complete outdoor space perfect for gathering family and friends for years to come.
